BHSA Minutes 7-20-08

BLACK HILLS SHOOTIST ASSOCIATION MINUTES FOR JULY 20, 2008

Meeting was called to order by President Hawkbill Smith.

Old Business:
Insurance to NRA is due this month and will be paid this week. The money left over after returning materials not used for stage one amounts to $204.56. Bonnie suggested using it to buy picnic tables for the area.

New Business:
Rich reports that Greg has been asked by NRA to have our group at Cabela’s during their grand opening. We will be there the 2nd weekend of their opening August 16th and 17th. We will dress in our outfits to represent NRA, SASS and Black Hills Shootist Association. This causes a conflict as this was our work and shoot weekend so that has been moved a week later to August 23rd and 24th. Annual shoot information.

Motels:

  • Chief Motel 605-673-2318 All rooms $58.00 NO PETS, NO SMOKING
  • Rocket Motel 605-673-4401 allows pets, no smoking 1 queen bed $50.00 2 queen beds $65.00 1 king bed $60.00 2 double beds $50.00

Cost of shoot will be $85.00 to include application fee, banquet for Saturday night, and lunches for Saturday and Sunday. The Banquet will be held at the Hitch-N-Post in Pringle after the shoot on Saturday. The flyers will go out this week, please return ASAP with your application form and monies. Badlands Dave reports that on the work day we need black spray paint for the targets.

He also needs scorekeepers for the shoot this year. If you know any one who would like to keep score let him know. He is working on the scenarios, if you have suggestions, get with him today. We need everyone to solicit business for donations to give away at the shoot. Most places are very generous, so don’t be afraid to ask. If you ordered bullets, they are in. Roger wants 1 check so the club will pay him but you need to pick them and pay for them as soon as possible. Bonnie has a box of Red Owls shooting clothes for sale. If you are interested see her. (Killer McBash bought the whole lot - thanks Mike). The dedication for Stage 1 will take place on our next shooting day.

ChuckWagon brought items in to sell. Any money will go towards the purchase of picnic tables for the area.

Don gave an update on the new pricing of bullets. He has a new vendor and there will be a 30-40% decrease in price. He will also start making shot in the next few weeks. Last minute 1880 Train Robbery today 3:45. Anyone that can go, please do so.

Motion made, seconded, and passed by majority to close the meeting.
